Tournament Committee provides update

Cupertino, April, 25. California Cricket Academy's National Tournament Committee updated all its members today with its vision for junior cricket for USA and the progress made so far on the 2nd National Junior tournament. Addressing a packed room at Hyde Middle School, Ram Varadarajan, Chairman of the Committee, kicked off the meeting in a rousing fashion, laying out the goals of the tournament and how it would benefit youth cricket in USA. He was later joined by his team of Naresh (Finance), Vijay (Operations), Magazine (Praachi & Ajay) to provide a progress. See attached presentation for more details....

USACA National Junior Tournament Ends on A High
Ten teams from eight cricket regions nationally participated in the 4-day, 23-game tournament played at Stanford, Santa Clara, Cupertino and San Jose.

Hosts California Cricket Academy (CCA) won the Under-11, Under-13 championship while North West Centurions won Under-15.

CCA Wins U-11, U-13 and U-15 National 2007 Championship title

June 24, Cupertino, CA. On a wonderfully sunny Sunday afternoon, a 500-strong crowd of cricket enthusiasts jostled for space along the boundary flags on the Santa Clara Cricket Ground. The event was the championship match in the Under-15 category of the 2nd US National Junior Cricket Tournament conducted by the bay area non-profit organization, California Cricket Academy. The moment was the imminent win of home team favorite CCA All Stars. As the crowd waited in hushed silence, Mital Patel of New Jersey Select XI ran in to bowl to Mihir Deo of CCA All Stars. As the ball passed wide of the batsman, the umpire declared it a wide. The crowd erupted into a frenzy of celebration and the rest of the CCA All Stars team ran in to congratulate their batsman.

National youth cricket tournament draws hundreds to Bay Area

About 800 spectators attended the country's first Junior National Cricket Tournament held June 22-25 at scattered South Bay venues, according to organizer Hemant Buch of Cupertino.

Buch said about 200 youngsters, ages 6 to 15, from as far away as New York and Kansas, played 22 matches on cricket pitches at Stanford University, and in Santa Clara, Cupertino and San Jose.
