Points (This information is also a part of the detailed CCA documentation and is
repeated here for the purposes of highlighting the importance and easy access)
• The winner of each match will get two (2) points
• The loser of a match will get no (0) points
• Match canceled (whether in progress or not started) due to acts of nature and due to external
forces beyond our control will result in each team getting one (1) point.
• A team that starts play (batting or fielding) with one or more ineligible players will
forfeit the match and the points accrued regardless of when during the tournament the
violation is discovered.
• A team that is not ready to play half an hour after the start time of the match will forfeit the
match and the points will be awarded to the other team provided they are present in sufficient
number. A team is deemed ready to play if it has at least seven (7) players present.
• Match canceled upon neither team being deemed ready to play (per above) half an hour after
the scheduled start will result in both teams getting 0 points.
• To determine semi-finalists and finalists in a tournament when points are equal, the net run
rate formula (NRR) will be used.
|
|
| NRR |
|
= |
|
Total runs scored over the matches played |
|
- |
|
Total runs scored against over the matches played |
|
|
Total number of overs used for the played matches |
Total number of overs bowled for the played matches |
|
|
•
In case a team was all out before its allotted overs in a match, the NRR shall be calculated
by considering the allotted overs instead of used overs for that match by the team.
• Outcome of finals or semi-finals canceled per above will be determined by (i) highest number
of wins which if equal, (ii) by NRR which if equal (ii) by a series of coin flips as needed. |
