Program 1 (Once a week for four weeks) – Friday June 3rd through Thursday, June 30th
Program 2 (Twice a week for three weeks) – June 10th through June 30th
Program 3 (Once a week for four weeks) – July 6th thru July 31st
Program 4 (Twice a week from July 11th till July 27th – 3 weeks)
Level Information
Level 1 – Beginner batches will have 2 levels. New registrations will all join at level 1 as per their age as explained above. In this level players will play only with the tennis ball. Establish basic technique – grip, stance, catching, throwing, ground fielding, bowling action, etc., using tennis ball for drills, coach to assess readiness and monitor level.
Level 2 – After a few sessions depending on progress and Coach’s assessment the player will be moved to Level 2. A player who is doing really well and if Parents agree can be moved to an older players level 2 batch as well. In this level players will play with the hard cricket ball. Advance technique development – front foot and back foot defense & drives, running between wickets, improve fielding fundamentals (variety of catches, throwing technique, etc.) and decision making on field.
Junior – Players that do not want to join the Annual Program (explained below), can continue at higher levels. These batches will be run in batches of Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. They will be 8 to 12 week programs. Players will not be invited to play weekend games or tournaments. Skill refinement – play a variety of shots, advanced bowling and fielding drills w/ expectation of consistent shot making, bowling accuracy and strong fielding.
Intermediate – Players that do not want to join the Annual Program (explained below), can continue at higher levels. These batches will be run in batches of Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. They will be 8 to 12 week programs. Players will not be invited to play weekend games or tournaments. Situational Cricket & Skill Improvement – improve decision-making process (how to set fields, where to bowl to a particular batsmen, where to throw, etc.) & develop strong instincts to make tournament ready.
Thank you so much for the wonderful cricket workshop today! Your coaches were very informative, professional, and enthusiastic, and the students thoroughly enjoyed the entire presentation. Also, I appreciate the cricket information and the ‘free’ cricket equipment. I will definitely incorporate cricket into my PE lessons! I am also going to speak with my PTA about organizing a cricket workshop after school for the students, perhaps after school one or two days a week. I will see about getting the PTA to help organize.
